Fort Collins is the craft-beer capital of Colorado with a football habit, and its game day reflects both facts in the correct proportions. The town rolls green and gold down to Canvas Stadium — the on-campus home the Rams finally built in 2017 after decades exiled to a stadium out by the reservoir — with the foothills of the Rockies standing over the west stands.
The Mascot
CAM the Ram is a live Rambouillet ram with a full-time handler team of students called the Ram Handlers, and his horns are magnificent. The name traces to the school's roots as Colorado Agricultural and Mechanical — C-A-M — so the mascot is technically an acronym with hooves. He leads the team out and then watches the game with more composure than most of the crowd.
The Saturday
The 'A' on the foothills above town gets lit for big occasions, a holdover from the Aggie era that locals still climb to. Canvas Stadium brought tailgating back onto campus, and Fort Collins does it the Colorado way: good beer, dogs everywhere, mountain light. When the Border War against Wyoming comes around, the Bronze Boot — an actual combat boot worn in Vietnam by a CSU ROTC graduate — is the most meaningful traveling trophy in the sport.
What to Wear
Our vintage Fort Collins line is hand-drawn ram art in forest green and gold on tees and caps — trailhead-to-tailgate wear for the front range. Start with all Fort Collins gear.
