Trojan game day happens in a building that has hosted two Olympics, a World Series, a Super Bowl, and a papal mass — and treats college football as its main tenant. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, torch and peristyle and all, gives USC Saturdays a scale no campus stadium can match: you tailgate in Exposition Park among museums, then walk into ninety years of history.
The Mascot
Traveler, a white horse ridden by a Trojan warrior, gallops the field after every USC score — one of the most cinematic sights in the sport, which is fitting for the school that staffs half of Hollywood. Tommy Trojan, the bronze warrior at the center of campus, gets wrapped in duct tape during rivalry week to protect him from crosstown paint jobs; the rivalry maintenance is mutual.
The Saturday
The Spirit of Troy — the only collegiate band with a platinum record, thanks to playing on Fleetwood Mac's 'Tusk' — plays 'Conquest' as the sun drops behind the peristyle, and the V-for-victory salute goes up. When USC is rolling, LA remembers it's a college football town wearing a pro city's clothes.
What to Wear
Our vintage Southern Cal line is hand-drawn Trojan art in cardinal and gold on garment-dyed tees and caps — swords-up design drawn like a 1970s program cover. Start with all Southern Cal gear.
